Claude gift subscriptions are unavailable. What to give instead

Anthropic’s gifting help page says gift subscriptions are currently unavailable to purchase. That status applies to every account type. The article does not give a return date.

If you planned to gift Claude Pro or Max for a birthday or the holidays, you need another path.

Weak substitutes inside Claude

• A guest pass is seven days of Pro. The recipient enters a payment method, and the pass can convert to a paid plan if they do not cancel. Say that out loud when you send it.
• Usage credits and bundles stay on the buyer’s account. Anthropic does not describe mailing them to someone else.
• Paying for their login yourself creates shared billing and awkward access.

A cleaner gift

Prepaid AI credit the recipient owns. They spend it on Claude when Claude is the right tool, and on other models when it is not. Nothing renews.
