Ranked alternatives

  1. Prepaid AI credit (best default). Fixed dollars, no renewal, giftable as a link. Works when they use Claude plus other models.
  2. ChatGPT gift card or gift credits if they are mostly on OpenAI. See OpenAI’s gift cards and gift credits pages. These do not buy Claude.
  3. Claude guest pass for a short try, with the cancel warning.
  4. Paying their Pro invoice only if you share household billing and they already subscribe. Messy as a present.

What “best” means here

Best means the recipient gets AI work done without inheriting a subscription, and you are not stuck when Anthropic’s gift store is closed.
