How to redeem a ChatGPT gift card
OpenAI’s gift card help page is the source for every step below.
Steps
- Open chatgpt.com/redeem in a browser and sign in to the account that should hold the money.
- Enter the gift card PIN. The full value redeems at once; you cannot split a card across accounts.
- Check Settings, then Billing, for the wallet balance and a Gift card line in history.
Rules that surprise people
- US accounts billed in USD only.
- Balance pays ChatGPT web subscriptions, renewals, upgrades and eligible credit purchases.
- It does not pay App Store or Google Play billed plans.
- It does not fund API prepaid billing.
- Cards do not expire; once redeemed, the wallet balance is not cash.
If you want to give AI credit that is not locked to ChatGPT’s wallet rules, Brass is built as a gift from the start.
Brass sells prepaid packs of $10 to $250 you can gift by email or as a card you print. Credits never expire. The recipient spends them across Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek. US only, 18 and over; an unclaimed gift returns to you after 90 days.
Still shopping for the holidays? A Brass pack goes by email or as a card you print at home, so it is there the day you give it. Send a pack.
