Gift Terms
Effective October 7, 2026. These terms apply to Brass packs sent as gifts. They are part of the Terms of Service.
How a gift works
A gift is a sealed Brass pack sent to someone by link or by email. The person who receives it signs in to Brass (they must be 18 or older and live in the United States) and claims it. We tell the buyer this before they pay. Once claimed, the pack is theirs. They can open it to spend the credits in the Brass web chat, or keep it sealed. If we hold the payment for review, the link is made when we release it, as the Terms say, and if we cannot release it, the payment is refunded in full and the gift is never sent. A gift the bank must confirm under the Terms’ limit on new cards, and does not, is refunded in full and never sent, and so is a gift paid in a way the Terms refund at once, as they list.
Names and notes
When you send a pack you can add your first name, the recipient’s first name and a short note. We show them on the gift page and in the gift email, print the note on the envelope, and engrave the recipient’s first name on the token picture. Anyone with the claim link can see them, so do not include anything private.
Value and expiry
A gift pack holds its face value in Brass credits. Paid credits never expire, and we charge no fees on gift packs.
Unclaimed gifts
If nobody claims a gift by the end of the 90th day after it was sent, it goes back to the sender, still sealed; the gift page and our emails show the date. Days end at midnight Eastern. The sender can also cancel an unclaimed gift at any time, which returns it to their stash.
If the sender gave us your email address, we remind you on days 3, 14, 45 and 80, and every reminder has a link to stop them. We tell the sender when a gift is claimed. If it is still waiting, we remind the sender on day 3 when they sent the link themselves, on day 14, and once more 5 days before it comes back.
Treat the link like cash
Anyone who has the claim link can claim the pack. Send it only to the person you mean it for. If you think someone else has the link, cancel the gift and send a new one.
Sending a gift on
A pack you received can be sent on to someone else once, 14 days or more after it was first bought.
Spending limit on new gifts
Credit from gift packs can be spent up to $10 a day in total, across all your gift credit, through the end of the 7th day after you claim a pack. This limit is lifted only when all four of these hold. The buyer’s Brass account is more than 30 days old. The card that paid for the pack has a settled purchase on that account at least 30 days old. The buyer’s bank asked them to confirm the payment and they did, or they paid with Apple Pay. The buyer’s account has had no sign of fraud in the last 90 days. The day resets at midnight Eastern time. The buy page tells the buyer before they pay, and the claim page, your stash and the chat show the limit and when it ends. This protects everyone from stolen cards.
Disputed payments
If the payment for a gift pack is disputed with the buyer’s card issuer, or the issuer warns us that the card was used without permission, we may put the pack and its credits on hold, even after it was claimed. We may also hold it while we check an account we have reason to think paid with a card it was not allowed to use.
If the buyer’s bank reports the payment as unauthorized, or decides a dispute about it against us, the money goes back to the buyer’s card and we remove the pack and any credits left in it, even after it was claimed. When the buyer confirmed the payment at their bank’s request, or paid with Apple Pay, an unauthorized report puts the pack on hold instead.
If a dispute is resolved in our favor, or the bank closes it without one, we release the hold. If the hold comes from a different payment by the same buyer, or with the same card, we release it 120 days after the payment for your pack. A hold for our own check, or after a warning on a payment the buyer confirmed at their bank’s request or paid with Apple Pay, ends 120 days after the payment, or 30 days after the hold if that is later, unless a dispute about the payment is open. If we find the card was used without permission, the money goes back to it and we remove the pack and any credits left in it. If we pause your account, we hold every pack you hold, gifts included, and when a pack’s hold ends before we lift the pause, what is left of it goes back to the card that paid for it, and we email you and its buyer. We email you when a pack you hold is put on hold, released or removed. You can ask us to review a hold at hello@adorellc.pro.
Refunds
Only the buyer can refund a gift pack, to the original card, through the 30th day after purchase, and only while it is unclaimed. Gift packs cannot be exchanged for cash, except as the Terms describe for small balances, closed accounts and a shutdown of Brass, and as the law requires. Gift packs and claim links cannot be sold.
