Can you gift GitHub Copilot?

GitHub Copilot is licensed to a GitHub user or organization. There is no mainstream retail “Copilot gift card.” Gifting usually means paying for their individual subscription or adding a seat on an org you admin. Both are awkward birthday presents.

Better default

If they already have Copilot, gift prepaid credit for the chat and agent work that happens outside the IDE. If they do not have Copilot, ask whether they want that seat before you surprise them with billing on their GitHub account.

Brass sells prepaid packs of $10 to $250 you can gift by email or as a card you print. Credits never expire. The recipient spends them across Claude, GPT, Gemini, Grok and DeepSeek. US only, 18 and over; an unclaimed gift returns to you after 90 days.
